Managed by the Audubon Institute, the Aquarium of the Americas is one of the leading facilities of its type in the United States. Bordered by the banks of the Mississippi River and near the infamous French Quarter, the Aquarium offers a unique look into an underwater world.
The Aquarium of the Americas offers enhanced exhibits of thousands of aquatic animals including a rare white alligator named Spots. Experience the beauty of a Caribbean reef when you step into a 30 foot long, clear tunnel and see creatures of all shapes and sizes. Feed penguins, sea otters and stingrays—a one of kind experience you’ll never forget. The Gulf of Mexico exhibit features sea turtles, sharks and stingrays. The newest exhibit is Adventure Island, an interactive fun zone made for exploring with exhibits to crawl on, climb in and sit on.
